Matthew Thilmany Portfolio

This page contains various audio clips ranging from sound design work to digital audio compositions. These clips are either linked from SoundCloud or from my personal collection. Captions explaining the work are placed below the respective audio clip.

This piece is as simple as it sounds, finding a short 10 second audio clip.

The 10 second clip was later shortened to 1 second, and then mixed to create a composition.

The idea for this one was to simply mess around in Abelton.

This assignment required the use of a word generator for three words that I had to emphasize in the piece. The three words were lid, ghost, and customer.

For this assignment, I had to use a synthesizer plug-in called Tyrell to compose the piece

Also known as "Help Me Spyro", the goal for this assignment was to take pieces of a song, specifically the Brian Eno and David Byrne collab "Help Me Somebody". I incorporated several parts of it and decided to add one more additional thing...something of PS1 nostalgia. This was created for educational purposes.

Nothing new, I had to incorporate what I learned into one final piece of audio...this is the result.

Spyro Audio Story (ATK 240): Yes, Spyro is back, and he is back to tell you one of his stories...and maybe burn some sheep. Includes the use of professional sound effect libraries, including sound effects taken directly from "Spyro: Year Of The Dragon". As for the voice, it was still in development at the time. Music was an original composition composed in Abelton.
